Abstract

Ischemic stroke is the most common type of stroke and contributes substantially to mortality and disability. Dyslipidemia and hyperglycemia play important roles in the pathophysiology of ischemic stroke and may influence clinical outcomes. This study aimed to describe the characteristics of lipid profile and random blood glucose levels among ischemic stroke patients at RSU Haji Medan in 2024. A descriptive retrospective design was applied using medical record data. The study included 83 eligible patients. The results showed that the largest age group was 55–62 years (28.9%) with male predominance (62.7%). Total cholesterol levels were mostly normal (49.4%), followed by borderline (33.7%) and high (16.9%). LDL levels were predominantly near optimal (31.3%) and borderline (30.1%), although high and very high levels were also observed. Low HDL levels were found in 48.2% of patients, while triglyceride levels were largely normal (62.7%). Random blood glucose levels were mainly normal (45.8%), with considerable proportions of prediabetes (27.7%) and diabetes (26.5%). In conclusion, abnormalities in lipid and glucose metabolism remain common in ischemic stroke patients, with dyslipidemia and hyperglycemia representing prominent metabolic characteristics.

 

Abstrak
Stroke iskemik merupakan jenis stroke yang paling sering terjadi dan berkontribusi besar terhadap angka kematian serta kecacatan. Dislipidemia dan hiperglikemia diketahui berperan dalam patofisiologi stroke iskemik serta memengaruhi kondisi klinis pasien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik hasil pemeriksaan profil lipid dan gula darah sewaktu pada pasien stroke iskemik di RSU Haji Medan tahun 2024. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain deskriptif dengan pendekatan retrospektif terhadap data rekam medis. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 83 pasien yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelompok usia terbanyak adalah 55–62 tahun (28,9%) dengan dominasi laki-laki (62,7%). Kadar kolesterol total sebagian besar berada pada kategori normal (49,4%), diikuti borderline (33,7%) dan tinggi (16,9%). Kadar LDL didominasi kategori mendekati optimal (31,3%) dan borderline (30,1%), namun kadar tinggi hingga sangat tinggi tetap ditemukan. Kadar HDL rendah dijumpai pada 48,2% pasien, sementara trigliserida umumnya normal (62,7%). Kadar glukosa darah sewaktu menunjukkan kategori normal (45,8%), dengan proporsi pre-diabetes (27,7%) dan diabetes (26,5%). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah bahwa gangguan metabolisme lipid dan glukosa masih sering ditemukan pada pasien stroke iskemik, dengan dislipidemia dan hiperglikemia sebagai karakteristik metabolik yang menonjol.
